Static Winter Hair

Static hair can be a major problem during the winter months. It is caused by the cold dry air dehydrating the hair. Despite not changing your hair washing routine, your locks can become uncontrollable and fly all over the place, stick your face, stick to your favourite festive jumper.

Luckily the team at Keep Me Inspired has a few tricks up our sleeves to stop the static and regain control of your luscious locks.
1) Deep condition your hair. If you normally condition your hair with every wash- great, but once or twice a week you will need to deep condition your hair. This means choosing a nourishing product which you leave in your hair for a longer period, you could even leave it in over night wrapped in a towel.
2) After you have washed, choose a leave in conditioner or gel (can you see a pattern forming). Leave in conditioner will not only moisturise the hair but weight it down.
3) Spray your hairbrush with a bit of hairspray or even better anti static spray, before you run it through your hair.
4) You know those softener sheets you stick in your tumbler dryer? Keep one of those in your handbag and if your hair is starting to have a life of its own, rub the softener sheet all over your hair, hey presto, magic!
5) Avoid products that include ingredients that will dry out your hair such as alcohol. Choose natural products and conditioner which is specific to your hair type.
So there you are, armed with a huge supply of conditioner and a softener sheet, you will win the fight against winter static hair, now if you will excuse me, I need to find my softener sheet...
